Academy of Scuba Equipment Refund and Exchange Policy
Refunds and/or exchanges are at the sole and exclusive discretion of the management and executives at the Academy of Scuba, Inc. There are absolutely no refunds or exchanges for any equipment that has been used in Open Water (e.g. Lakes, Rivers, Quarries, Oceans, etc). There are no cash refunds. Refunds and exchanges on equipment are for shop credit only. All Refunds and/or Exchanges are subject to a Restocking Fee. Refunds and/or exchanges older than 30 days from the original date of purchase will be subject to an additional 30% Restocking Fee. Any Exchanges or Refunds older than 90 days will NOT be considered. Appeals to this policy for hardship reasons only may be sent, in writing, to info@academyofscuba.com.

Restocking Fees
When a refund or exchange is made, Academy of Scuba has incurred costs and overhead. In many cases, we have re-inventoried the equipment purchase you made already. Because of the costs incurred, which range from Credit Card Fees, staffing, office supplies, etc., it is imperative that we charge a handling fee for restocking your item. As of June 1, 2012, the standard restocking fee is twenty (20%) percent of your purchase price.

Academy of Scuba Travel Refund, Transfers, and Reschedule Policy
There are NO Refunds or Reschedules for any travel purchase at the Academy of Scuba. Trip Transfers, if allowed by the travel vendors, are at the sole discretion of the management and executives at the Academy of Scuba, Inc. The Purchaser is responsible for any costs associated with approved transfers. The Purchaser is responsible for finding a party in which to sell and/or transfer approved transfers. The Academy of Scuba bares no responsibility for assisting in finding a party in which to sell/transfer any trip on behalf of the Purchaser. Appeals to this policy may only be sent, in writing, to info@academyofscuba.com.

Where to Purchase Travel Insurance
The Academy of Scuba is not in the Travel Insurance business. We highly recommend doing your own due diligence when looking for a Travel Insurance Vendor. For your convenience, we have posted a link to various insurance vendors at http://www.diveemergencytraining.com/dive-insurance.html. Please take note, Academy of Scuba does not endorse or recommend insurance vendors. Your decision is solely based on your research. Please seek counsel for a licensed insurance professional!

Academy of Scuba Training Refund Policy
Refunds and/or exchanges are at the sole and exclusive discretion of the management and executives at the Academy of Scuba, Inc. As a policy, there are no Refunds for any training purchase at the Academy of Scuba. If the Academy of Scuba cannot meet your expectations during training, you can alert the quality control department at info@academyofscuba.com. If we cannot fix the problem within three (3) business days of your request, the training portion (only) of your course may be refunded and you can seek training elsewhere. Please note, any course materials included in the price of your training course, will be deducted from your refund as these materials can be reused elsewhere. This quality assurance refund is only available once per person. Reasonableness of this request will be evaluated by the Quality Assurance Team. If your request is deemed unreasonable as per the terms of your purchase and/or industry standard, no refund will be given and your one refund request shall be exhausted. Once training is completed there are no refunds. Refunds will not be given for failing to be certified.

Rescheduling your Training at the Academy of Scuba Policies
Training is a limited commodity. Academy of Scuba is committed to low training ratios and does not over-book its classes. Our commitment to the highest levels of quality training and safety is our number 1 business goal. When you schedule a class, pool, or open water training session, you are prohibiting another customer from booking or reserving that spot. Once you schedule your class, pool, and/or open water training sessions, you may cancel and/or reschedule your training sessions as long as you have four (4) days (minimum 84 hours) notice. If you have less than 84 hours but more than 24 hours, if we can fill your spot, then there is no penalty. If there is less than 24 hours from the start of your session, there will be a $50 cancellation fee. Not showing up for a session will be the same as cancelling within 24 hours. Appeals to this policy may only be sent, in writing, to info@academyofscuba.com.

Remedial Training Policy
If you do not meet the minimum requirements for earning certification or completing a portion of your training to move forward to certification, you will be notified in writing by the Instructor and/or Academy of Scuba Management. Please note, earning certification and/or meeting interim requirements for certification is at the SOLE discretion of your Instructor. Academy of Scuba management and executives not involved in your training have NO influence on that decision.

Every course has a definitive number of classroom, confined water, and/or open water training sessions. Please see the course agenda and/or description for exact details.

Should you not be able to complete your certification or need additional training beyond the scope of the number of classroom, confined water, and/or open water training sessions included in your course, you may be required to pay a Remedial Training Fee. All Remedial Training is handled privately to ensure highest possible attention is being given to the student.

As of June 1, 2012, Remedial Training Session Fees are as follows:

  1. Classroom Sessions are billed at $35 per hour, minimum is 1 hour, and is billed in 1 hour increments rounded up.
  2. Pool /Confined Water Sessions are billed at $50 per hour, minimum is 2 hours and is billed in 1 hour increments thereafter and rounded up.
  3. Open Water Training Sessions are billed at $60 per dive plus $6 per day. Dives are defined as follows: If the instructor meets you at the Open Water site, that is 1 dive. For every dive thereafter, a valid dive briefing shall constitute a billable dive.
  4. Remedial Dive Training Sessions are subject to Cancellation Fees as defined in the Rescheduling Dive Training Policy.

Shipping Deadline
To ensure Next Day and/or Overnight delivery, your order must be placed at 12:00PM PST the day before.

When We Ship
We ship 5 days a week, Monday through Friday, all Overnight and 2nd Day orders placed Monday through Thursday before 12:00 PM PST, and on Friday before 10:00 AM PST will ship on the same day (orders placed on Friday after 10:00 AM PST, will ship the following week). All other orders ship within 1 business day.

Term of Fulfillment
All merchandise purchased through this website are F.O.B. ("Freight on Board") at our fulfillment center. Title to the merchandise passes to you at the time of delivery by the fulfillment center to a common carrier.

P.O. Boxes
Shipping to P.O. Boxes will be granted only upon request, certain restrictions apply, please call customer service for details.

Hotels and Forwarding Places

Order Verification
All orders are subject to our order verification policy, failure to provide the correct information may cause a considerable delay in the processing and shipping of your order.

Out of Stock Items
In very rare instances if an item marked In Stock is out of stock, our customer service department will contact you and, if agreed, the item will be shipped as soon as we receive them from our suppliers. Academy of Scuba will pay postage charges on all subsequent shipments after the initial one, within the U.S. only.

Special Order Items
Items that we don't usually stock, and are ordered specifically for the customer, special orders are final sale and non-refundable and may take an extensive amount of delivery time, please contact us in advance for expected delivery time.

Canceled Order
If the merchandise has already been shipped and a cancellation is allowed, it will be your responsibility to pay the complete shipping and handling charges.

Shipping Rules
A signature might be required for UPS shipments upon receipt. Packages cannot be rerouted or picked up from UPS, at the discretion of the local UPS driver someone must be at the address to receive the package and sign for it.
