Whether it's a regulator problem, a wet suit tear or a broken mask strap, the Equipment
Specialist course can help.

This Specialty course prepares you for the basic equipment maintenance, care  and
adjustments you'll encounter every day. In addition, you'll get the valuable background on
equipment repair and purchase, making  you better able to protect your investment.

This is the quickest and most efficient way to become familiar with your equipment and setup
a small kit to do quick and simple service on your equipment.  For anyone who is considering
or has purchased scuba equipment, this course is a great way to save an expensive dive trip
when a small 50 cent part breaks.

What do you need to start?
PADI/SDI Open Water Diver, NAUI Scuba Diver or Junior Open Water/Scuba  Diver certification
(or qualifying certification from another organization)

Minimum age: 10 years old

What will you do?
During your Equipment Specialist program, you'll familiarize yourself with the operation and
maintenance of your personal equipment. Your instructor will also provide the opportunity to
review new or unfamiliar dive equipment.

The program is not an equipment repair program, but it does give you:

  • Theory, principles and operation of dive equipment
  • Routine recommended care and maintenance procedures
  • Common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance
    procedures
  • Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to
    new equipment

What will I need?
Your Scuba Equipment (whatever you have)
Spare Parts Kit (see parts kit list—stop by
AZDivers at 40th Street and Bell)
Encyclopedia of Recreational Diving (recommended)

What does the course cost?
$119 Includes your training and certification fees

How long is the course?
The course is one evening.  Classes generally start at 6PM and end approximately at 9PM—
we will stay as late as we need too.

Where can I go from here?
You can count this Specialty certification towards your Master Scuba Diver certification.
$119.00
